Join the School of Health on December 5th for a lecture on "Cancer and Community: What it Means, Who It Affects, and Why Support Matters: A Conversation On Cancer, Connection, and the Power of Community" by Maureen McKenzie, LLMSW - Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids and Gilda's LaughFest.
This session will center on the lived experiences of those affected by cancer and the essential role of community in the healing journey. Led in partnership with Gilda鈥檚 Club Grand Rapids, it will explore how emotional, social, and spiritual support can impact quality of life for individuals with cancer and their loved ones. The conversation will highlight the power of connection, the importance of community-based resources, and how collective care contributes to hope, resilience, and well-being.
