Dr. Christopher Watkin is this year's presenter at the Stob Lecture Series at Calvin Theological Seminary. His talk "The Human Remains: Fragility and Fulfilment in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" examines patterns of the Bible's storyline to help make sense of modern life and culture.

Dr. Christopher Watkin is Associate Professor of French Studies at Monash University, Melbourne. His research explores modern and contemporary European thought, with particular focus on the intersections of philosophy, theology, and cultural critique. He is the author of several books, including Difficult AtheismFrench Philosophy Today, and the multi-award-winning Biblical Critical Theory, named Christianity Today book of the year in 2024. In all his writing, he tries to make sense of how people make sense of life. You can find him on X @DrChrisWatkin, and many of his Christian talks and interviews are accessible at
