First-Gen Connection

First-Generation students are invited to this conversation with a counselor from the Center for Counseling & Wellness (CCW), along with other students sharing similar experiences. You can expect a warm welcome and a comfortable, casual environment.
Conversation will focus on challenges experienced as a first-gen student, building community, identifying coping skills, & sharing encouragement. The group is facilitated by first-gen & bilingual Calvin alum Araceli Warners, LMSW, and meetings are each week on Mondays (4-5:00pm) in the TRIO Suite (HH 228). No screening appointment is needed prior to joining the group.
